A massive amount of heat gain occurred in the lobby and offices at the front of the building prior to the addition to the Laborers' Union. We modeled the proposed addition in the computer during the design process to aid us in the design of the new exterior shading devices. The building is now able to actively block the suns rays at the appropriate times of the day.
